3 things

Hi guys! How are you? How's December so far? Here it's been freezing cold and we had a storm every other day, which led to flooding that caused roads collapses - crazy stuff. On the other hand, the Christmas spirit is beginning to be felt as all the shops decorated their windows, the streets have been embellished with themed lighting etc and I'm already racking my brain to sort out the Christmas presents for my family but I'm sure I'll end up buying most of them on the 24th as usual :(

Anyway here's what I've been doing lately:

1. I've been giving another go to digital painting, trying to reproduce that sketch I did last night. This is what I've done so far, but there's still a looot more to do. (I don't know if you can tell but the first frame of the gif is just so so bad, lol).

smash sunday + giveaway!

Hi guy, happy Sunday! I hope those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving had an amazing day on Thursday, and that the rest of you are enjoying your almost holidays :)
Today I'm back with pictures of my smash* which aren't exactly great quality but still you should be able to get an idea of the pages I did lately.

Those pages I'm showing you, are dedicated to my friend Kelly, the penpal who visited me earlier in October:

On this side of the page, I glued her latest letter in which she told me about the rest of the trip in Italy, what she did/liked etc and a picture of the lovely gifts she brought me from Chicago: a t-shirt and a shot glass with the city skyline!
Also I have to say, the letter was sealed with a gorgeous wax seal she got in Florence. However when it came, it was already half damaged and I wasn't able to remove it safely to keep it intact.. so yeah I'm a mess! But trust me, it was pretty rad.

summer mail part 2

Hello guys!
In my last mail post, I've told you that I received some special packages when I got back.
Two of those were from Mary and, and literally left me speechless..

(The books in the upper side belonged to another package, while the socks and the trinkets came in the big rainbow box on the left)
Look at all the stuff she sent me! Oh my. We arranged an "Inspirational Swap" a while ago, and this is her (awesome) contribution to it.

lettermo april week #3

Hello you guys, three posts in raw this week, that's not really my thing! :D
As the title says, week 3 of the lettermo is completed. Unfortunately I haven't been at home until today so I didn't have the chance to take pictures of the letter I sent. From monday to today, they were for: Roxana, Nicola, Katrina, Mette, and my reply to Mary.

This week I've been quite busy with Uni and studying, but today we took a day off, and especially at night, I had the time to work on a few things such as keeping up with the letter requests, drawing a bit and experimenting with crafts!

Today, we went at the mall for some spring/summer clothing shopping, even if the weather here is being terrible lately. Surprisingly, I bought quite a few things and I found myself liking the pale mint color a lot.. maybe too much. (This is weird because I mostly wear only black/gray/white things..so)
We also had the chance to finally buy some macarons again! They're a little bit pricy but so worthy.

I bought 8 macarons in total, in four different flavors: pistachio, raspberry, violet and, dark chocolate.

Moleskine Monday #1

Today's pages in my altered art journal, are both dedicated to a project i'm working on with a friend.

"snail mail"
"Snail mail makes me happy" - mixed medias.
Pretty self-explanatory page: I've always been into snail mail, and receiving and sending letters makes me happy like only a very other few things do. During my second year of middle school, since I was fluent enough in english to be able to write a whole letter, I started having many penpals all over the world. One of those, a girl from Canada, is still currently my pen pal, and I consider her one of my best friends, even if we've never met. We've been writing to each other for 9 years and I'm pretty sure I can claim to know her better than many of my "real life" friends, and the same is for her. Apart from her, for a reason or another I've lost contacts with all the others, and only recently I've started looking for new people to exchange letters with.

#4

So then: my entry for the Sketchbook Project 2012 is finally complete and I felt like ranting about it.
Quick recap about what is the Sketchbook Project: after signing up for the project and paying a *little* sum of money, the Brooklyn Art Library sends you a blank sketchbook which you're supposed to fill in according to a theme you've chosen at the moment that you joined it. Once your sketchbook is complete, you send it back at the Brooklyn Art Library and it will be collected along with all the other participants' sketchbooks and be exhibited to the public. (There are still a few sketchbook available if you happen to be interested; click.)
